My name is Kathleen. I live in Orangeville, Ontario, Canada. It's a fairly small, rural community and I love living here. I can look out the windows at the back of my house and see cattle and cornfield.
My husband and I live in a house with a really ancient, cranky cockatiel, two cats, and two dogs. ALL of the animals are rescues!
We've had the bird, Wishbone, longest - about 12 years now. We think she's about 16 years old. She's very sweet and I talk to her all the time. She doesn't talk back, cockatiels are not big talkers (especially the females).
Our male cat is a feral rescue, from a camping trip about 4 years ago. His name is Frank. Our other cat is a Craigslist rescue. She was being passed around from home to home on a weekly basis until we stepped in. We've had her 2 years. She's not an overly affectionate cat and she's quite quirky which is probably why no one ever gave her a chance.
One of our dogs is a rescued breeder, she's a Golden Retriever named Dazzle. She's now 7, we've had her for about 3 years. The first thing we did was have her spayed. She is a lovely, sweet-tempered, has the most wonderful temperament and loves everyone. We are SO blessed to have her. She is our princess!
Our other dog is a permanent foster, he's a Golden Retriever as well. His call name is Hansel, and he's a Canadian Champion - a beautiful animal. Too bad he doesn't have a brain! He's a big, lolloping, clumsy, drooling, burping, airhead. He's our "special" boy! He also happens to have an amazing personality and temperament, and is super affectionate to absolutely everyone. The world and everyone in it is his best friend.
My husband and I both work in IT. He's a Network Engineer. I'm a Network Administrator. I am also a Microsoft MVP for Microsoft Outlook. We also have a cottage that we go to every weekend for 6 months out of the year that we enjoy.
I am a fairly adventurous eater but I have a shellfish (crustacean and mollusc) allergy that lands me in the hospital if I go near them. My husband is a pedantic eater, preferring to stick to what he knows. I adore cooking. He has not cooked one meal the entire time we've been together (16 years). He grills though and does a fantastic steak.

Hi, Dean! Liz, here. Share a house with two white boxers, Winston (the dog in the picture to the left) and Walker. Their favorite place in the world is their "kitchen beds," the pallets I installed in the breakfast area to keep them out from under my feet. They are the best quality control department you can have. I am an above-average cook who would have gone to culinary school had it not been for a MAJOR fish allergy.

Can't wait to see more of your recipes in the weeks to come. I've been follow RvG and am blown away by your food. Keep it up!

Liz
